End of Weekend
We had a blowout weekend. We rode the MC up to the Getty Museum for a few hours and over to Melrose Ave. to check on the action. Plenty of trendy shops, but no place to get a beer. We rode up to Hollywood Blvd. and parked on the street with a bunch of other bikers. We had a dinner at "2 Guys From Italy". It was fairly good with cold beer. We sat on the bike for an hour or so, watching the show. LAFD usually makes a five unit run, horns and sirens screeching, down the blvd to a false alarm. Fun to watch. The run home, after a run up the Sunset Strip, on I405 was not fun. I worried more about the guys coming up behind me than the ones in front of me. We stopped at Mother's for a nightcap.
On Saturday the AHOC all met at the Huddle for drinks and a bunch of us ran up to Joe Jost's for Lunch. A stop at Mother's on the way home finished the day. On Sunday, Dan and Gay joined us downtown at Fred's for lunch and over to Perq's a few rounds. I am glad I was walking. It was Biker Boyz day in HB. The cops feasted!!!

Late August
We went to Duke's last night for happy hour and a sandwich. It was very nice. We stopped at Perq's for one and went home to the tube. I will finally finish placing the bridge on the RR today. Vexing problem solved. We won on Monday night softball and I got two hits. Tomorrow we are going to the museum in LA, Melrose Ave and Hollyweird on the MC. Ought to be interesting.

Workout
I got a new weight lifting machine installed yesterday. After CAREFULLY reading the instructions, I did a seven exercise workout. (three sets, ten reps each). Terrific workout. I am probably spent for the day. I must get back into shape,(if I ever was!). Went out to dinner in downtown HB last night with friends and went to a Trustee meeting at the Lodge after. NOTHING is easy there. A bunch of self-serving blue hairs. It is like stepping into the '50s. I got a call from work to sit on an interview panel for a new counselor. I guess summer is over. RATS!

Dog Days
Well here we are in the middle of August and school is just around the corning. I have a bit of a problem with my right eye. I might need laser surgery to repair a macular leak. Rats! I bought a nautilus weight-lifing machine to work out with. Other than reading and going to meetings not much is new. Anyway school starts two weeks from tomorrow and I really don't want to go. Double Rats!! I might go riding next weekend to Tehachapi Pass for a night.

Catching Up
Well the trip is over. I went to Skagway, spent the night and rode up to Whitehorse Y.T. the next day. It was a beautiful ride. We spent the night there, although there is nothing to see or do of any great interest. I got my M/C serviced the next day and rode back to Skagway. I saw W.P. & Y. #73 in steam. It pulled 16 cars up from the cruise ship docks and swapped them for three Alco diesels. Very stimulating. We spent the night and caught the Malispina to Ketchikan. It was overnight and relaxing. We got off in Ketchikan, staying at the Super 8. Noisy and hot. We bailed the next day to the Narrows Inn, about 5 miles north. Ketchikan is fun and we saw eagles, salmon and great food. We caught the Columbia back to Bellingham WA. I dropped MR off at the airport and rode back to Everett. I saw an aircraft carrier at the docks and began to ride US2 east to Spokane WA. It was cold, but once I crossed the Cascades it got as hot as hell all the way home. I rode into Idaho and down US95 the next day. I spent 24 hours in Nampa, drinking beer. I continued south on 95 and ran into Dean Tanji on the road. Small, small world. I moved on to I80 and rode into Reno. I spent two nights gambling there. It was great. Ted and I visited the museum in Portola and drove to Keddie Wye. Little action. I left on Tuesday and rode over Sonora Pass at 9600 feet. I spent the night in Sonora with Dave and Imelda. Fun time. I rode home to HB on Wednesday. It was very hot on the way home. All-in-all I rode 3800 miles in 23 days. Great fun!!
