High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

We had a nice weekend. We went to the AHOC party at Ron's and on Sunday, I started the CHOC poker ride pre-run in Jen G. This will be a nice run of about 75 miles. Stopped by CC and ran into wierd Paula. Nothing new there. Yanks are on a roll. They beat Detroit 4-0 yesterday. I have a few things to handle and work is finished. All-in-all I won't miss it much.
I have a baseball banquet on Thursday and next week begins the GJ training. Speaking of trains, I better got cracking on the layout. I are going to Ely to run trains again in June. Other than that life is good.

It is a rany Monday with a sb doubleheader scheduled for 6:30. We are hurting for guys. Dave B. is out, Tony S. is working. Always tough. I have to go to work today. It will take a bit of time to clean up the mess. I was appointed to the GJ as first alternate. We will see where that goes.

The convention in San Diego was fun, but a lot of down time. I have to finish the budget tomorrow night with JB.

I rode the mc a bit this weekend going to a poker run and the chili cook-off. All-in-all fun. BB is hurting from the treatments, but they finish up this week.

Baseball season is over. We were 7-3 in league play. Coach Kelly asked me to sit on the bench for the varsity playoffs. Nice! I have to go for the GJ lottery on Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed. I will be going to the Elks Convention on Wednesday through Saturday this week. I am not moved by this stuff. AP tests are over. All seems serene. The market sucked this week. It cost me a bit of money. The Lodge has a few problems, but I am on them. What else is new? Other than the stuff I mentioned, the world is good.

Let's see, the last time I blogged was when I got back from Yuma on the MC. Since then the BB team lost three games and won one on a forfeit. They are not playing well. I have two games left and I would like to win both. The softball team won the championship on a very tough game May 1. We won in extra innings 8-7. Very good game. MR and I went to Beatty on the run with the AHOC. A couple of the guys were done in by the heat. Chooch and Wendy Spellmeyer stepped up and rode their bikes to town. On the trip we went to Gold Point, a ghost town owned by a local. He is the sheriff and his wife is the judge. Anyway they opened the bar and we had a blast. On Saturday night we hung out at the Sourdough and the casino. We rode home Sunday am with Ron S. During the week Fast Eddie stayed and the group got together on Wednesday night at the Longboard for dinner. On Saturday we rode up to Mira Loma for Cindy Ware's 50th BD party. Real nice time. I got some great news from the county. I am among 30 finalists in the Grand Jury pool. Very flattering. It is up to the luck of the draw now. This week is the last week for baseball and the AP exams. It is winding down now. Interesting times ahead.
