High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

I rode to Yuma AZ on Friday. It was a nice ride. We got there and I found out I made a mistake in the motel. The Ramada Inn is not Howard Johnson's. We partied at HJ anyway. Kerri asked me to run for school board. I will give it a thought. I rode home quickly Saturday and took a nap before I went to the Lodge for the Inaugural Ball. The music sucked and the meal was so-so. MR loved it because of all her work in decorating it. I am happy for her. Me, I could care less about it. I figure I have one more year as an officer and I will give it my best, but after that, it is so over. We have the run to Beatty coming up next Friday. That is getting to be a bore also. Not much doing different there. Baseball is over in two weeks and the AP test is finished on the 11th. Things are wrapping up. Time for a change.

The BB team is going through a rough time. We have a lot of whinning and, frnakly, some of the "superstars" don't understand the game. Work is OK but I will not ever come back to WHS. When you are away, and out of the "loop", yoiu realize that the loop that you were in sucks. Apathy seems to be the byword of WHS. Each year there is a sweat to "make" their test scores. Once you are away and come back you get to realize how bad it is. This is not a good time.

On the other hand the bills are in order, MR and I are losing weight and working out quite a bit. I feel fine physically.

Monday was one long day. I went in for AP review and only 6 of the 36 who are taking the exam appeared. Go figure. The baseball team got it's clock cleaned 14-4. They deserve it.
The softball team won 19-6. Nice finish to a so-so day.

I need a week off. The baseball practices, AP review and Lodge are really eating up the time. Now I remember why I retired. We are 2-1 in baseball. We lost a real important player and I hope we can regroup and move ahead. We are still in first place in softball. We should be fine there. I have an AP review today, a baseball game after and a softball game tonight. I am supposed to go the a DD clinic at the Lodge but that won't happen unless I get back from the baseball game early.

Yesterday I went to the Yankee-Angel game with Tom B and Joe K. We met Mo and Laura from the Lodge and had a great time. We ended up at the Lodge after. MR came down and we really had fun. Yuma and Beatty runs are coming up. I need a ride.

The government sure took a chunk out of us in taxes, but we are all square now. Time to move on.

I don't know what the last time I was on this but a few things have happened since. We won at baseball 6-0 over Orange HS but lost in softball. MR and I went to the gospel brunch with the Bresnans. Nice time. On Sunday we took Jess to Luggatti's for dinner. Very nice time. Lodge was OK, with Dave R showing up. Mo won Elk OTM and we are going to dinner Saturday night. MR's trip was fine and she arrived late Saturday afternoon. All is well in Buffalo. I must catch up with this stuff.
