High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

I went to Street Vibrations in Reno last week. It was a nice cool ride up and stayed with Ted and Mary Ellen. The weather was really cool. I went to downtown Reno where they set up the gig. Big disapointment. No bikes on the street. They set up parking lots and structures for parking and closed off a number of streets for vendors. It is all about selling the usual shit. No cruising around or checking out bikes. Not worth the trip.

I rode over to Hollister on Friday. I rode US50 from Carson City to the end in Sacramento then down I5 to 152/156 into town. I stayed at Best Western. Fair place. I checked out Johnny's downtown and returned to the room after a lousy dinner. During the night it began to rain.

I left at 7:45 am in the rain and rode back to I5. It rained the first hour but was ok until I got to Grape Vine. From there to Glendale it was rain, hail and sleet. I saw at least 6 accidents on the road including a big rig that jackknifed. Scarey ride all the way. I got home at 3:30 exhausted.

Tough trip of 1274 miles. Not worth a second look

The Yanks took two of three in Fenway over the weekend. Nerve-racking on Friday and Sunday nights.

We had a quiet weekend. Hung out with Dan and Gay on Friday night for a bit, but that was it. Tomorrow on the road to Reno for Street Vibriations. I will look up Lisa S. for dinner. Her mom was here on Friday for lunch. Six of us at El Rancheto with margaritas.

It is definately cooling off, but the Santa Ana's will be coming soon.

It has been six years since that rotten day. Six years of lying by Bush also. Screw him. I wonder why his daughters and Mitt Romney''s five sons are not in uniform. Hmmmm !

Lost at softball last night, but we picked up three new players. Great future.

Quiet weekend. MR and I went to the Longboard twice to watch the Yankees play. Good times. We ran into John Slattery, the actor in "Desperate Housewifes" and "Mad Men". A nice guy. We yakked for and hour and a half on baseball, movies and politics. Small world.

Next week I am off to Reno. I need a few days on the road.

MR finished the bathroom up front. Looks real fine.

At last the Labor Day weekend is over. It is hot as hell here in Surf City and no relief in sight. We had a very busy weekend. Friday night we went down to El Ranchito for a late lunch and had a bunch of Margaritas. Saturday was a kick-back day, but Sunday had three parties. We started at the AHOC, moved to softball party and ended up at the wine tasting group. We were really tired Sunday night. Monday we hung out and went to dinner with the neighbors at Aloha Grill. Downtown was mobbed. It is so hot at night, it is tough to sleep.
Tally, the new dog, is settling in. I got the stitches out and have been taking her to the DP. She runs herself ragged and sleeps all day. Good!
I worked my the model rr a bit. It is really hot up there.
