High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

It has been a busy week. I went to the eye doctor for a six-month exam. They are going to dry up the water in my eye with a shot. That should be interesting!! We had a guy come out to bid on the back yard lawn with artificial turf. It looks good so I think I will do it in February. I went to a WHS potluck yesterday. Fun time as always. The school looks good with all the renovations. DB gave me an Obama shirt based on the Atlanta Braves shirt that Hank Aaron wore when he broke Ruth's HR record. I think I'll wear it to the Lodge on Super Bowl Sunday. That ought to stir up some laughs. BHO seems to have the right ideas to help the middle class. Not much enthusiasium for 18 billion in bonuses.

Busy week socially. We went to the Five Crowns on Monday with the Elks group and to Lugattis with K&L on Thursday. I watched Obama's inauguration on Tuesday all day. Great speech, great stuff. I was supposed to go on a motorcycle ride on Saturday the 24th but it was rained out as was working on the locomotive. I did get a lot of work done on the railroad layout though.

A restful weekend is OK

Really busy this last week or so. I have spent two Saturdays on the engine. It is coming together nicely. We got the wallboard in the kitchen and guest bathroom repaired. That finishes that job. We have several things we would like to do on the house, first is which is rebuilding the guest bathroom. I would also like to stucco the front of the house, but that is not cheap.

With the economy in the tank, I might be able to fine some contractors who are looking for work. I might also replace the natural grass in the yard with the stuff our neighbors put in. Looks really great.

MR killed herself with the bridal shower for niece Kelly. That really ate up a week.

Off to a another busy year
