Busy weeks
Ever since we returned from New England it has been very busy. We went to a chili-cookoff in Fullerton, took a run to Harrah's in Temecula and got MR off to Buffalo. The presidential campaign is heating up. It is centered in swing states in the east. Not much going on in California, since this state is a lock for Barack. Gee, I'm a poet and didn't know it. The Maccarthys' are not going to do Beatty in the spring and I think the run may die. After ten trips it might be time for a change. There is some talk of Cambria on the coast. We will see where that goes.
I dropped MR off at the airport at 5 am today and I am a bit wiped.

October 17
Back home in CA now. It was a great trip to NE. The wedding last weekend was fabulous. The weather was perfect and the reception was a lot of fun. We rode back to Boston on Monday and didn't leave the hotel. We were beat!! The Dodgers are gone and I thought Boston was also, but they came back to win the game in the 9th. On to Tampa Bay.
The weather has been really warm here, and we have had a few nasty fires.
I got the MC back, completely updated. We have a couple of runs to go to this month.

October 1
I thought I might work the market survey job with John N. and Barbara B. but I felt that this was not my cup of tea. Moving on, we are getting ready for the trip to NE on Sunday.
The election campaign is heating up, especially with the bailout legislation that has stalled. I watched Dennis Kasinovich, a congressman from Ohio, explain why he voted against the bill in the House. He said the rescue is going to the wrong people, rather it should be given to distressed homeowners, either extending their mortgage in time, or reducing the payment until the economy turns around. In many respects he made sense. We shall see.
