High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

Getting ready to go to New England on Friday. Yanks are up a 1/2 game. We won a real big one last night. The first-place undefeated team was up 10-0 in the second and we caught them and beat them 23-18. One great comeback. Not much new with the AHOC. Junior HS. I bought a Port series sleeper for the 20th Century Limited. Real expensive! A PRR 2-10-4 is enroute. I don't think I will buy much more brass. Way too expensive. The plastic with sound seems to have my fancy.

George's memorial service was excellent. We started at the Huddle and rode with escort to the Shriner's Center in Anaheim. The Mason's really did a great job. Afterward we had a buffet and went back to the Huddle. Lonnnnng Day!

On Saturday I went to a renewal of vows at Mother's (in the park) and over to Uzzi's for a birthday party. On Sunday we worked Thunderation all day. Another long day.

Monday was interesting as I told Nancy I didn't want the TO job but did help the new guy set up his classroom. Really felt good to pitch in.

Speaking of pitching, we got bombed in Softball.

It really wasn't a good week. Crazy George passed away on Monday the 29th. He never gave a sign of recovery. We are having a service for him on Friday the 9th of September. Work started fine without me. I didn't miss it a bit. There is an opportunity to make a few bucks as an "Attendance Recovery Officer". Probaby not!! Lots of parties this weekend. New Orleans is a mess. Bush sucks! He and his jackels are so lame.
