High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

A busy week since last post. We finished off a criminal hearing and had a couple of interviews on our project. All went well. On Saturday I led 6 bikes and 2 riders to Border Field State Park. It was a nice time. Saturday night we went to Henry's 50th BD party. A real great time. On Monday night we won a softball game with 9 players. I had two hits. Tuesday was Elk's day and it was a long one. The DDGER did his annual visitation and all that stuff. Thursday promises to be busy with a interview with a prospective catered and House/Trustee meetings at night. On Friday MR & I fly to Boston in the am and will spend a week in Maine. This ought to be fun.

Today is the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 mess. A lot has changed since then. I remember being in the field on Delaware with MR, Tasha, Maggie and Snowball when the old woman in the trailer ran out and told us. I also remember talking to classes that day. I remember the girl in the back of the room, crying. We have lost a lot of innocence since that day, particularly since the village idiot from Crawford TX and his gang are running the show.

On a happy note, the Yankees are 10 games up in the east and are resting the starters for October. A nice place to be. The Red Sox and Angels are in trouble. Derek Jeter is having a career year. Awesome!

I rode the Harley to Swallows yesterday. Nice time. We went to King Neptune's last night for the band. I didn't drink a drop and lost two pounds.

We had a great weekend. I rode a bit on the FXR on Saturday. That evening we met Mo and Kim at Perq's for the George Fryor Group. Outstanding music and great fun! Mo crashed again in the back room. On Sunday we went to an AHOC party. softball party and Elk's party. We were shot! Monday was a real kickback day. We stopped over at C&C's for a wine or two and crashed in front of the tube. All-in-all a great Labor Day weekend. We took the PT and FXR in for servicing on Tuesday. The Lodge is it's usual nightmare with the annual crash and burn of the caterer. Hurry up 4/1/07!!
