End of January
We certainly have had a little rain over last weekend. This is very good. The market is up over the last few days. Some good economic news helped. Last night the asshole Bush gave his final State of the Union message. All he did is harp on the lunatic right wing philosophy he espouses. He is going nowhere this year. Adios asshole!!!!
I went to the 3751 orientation last Saturday. Seemed OK. I will see more when I go to Redondo Jct. to help our on Saturday.
On Sunday I went to the gun show with the CCW group. Seemed fine. Tomorrow I have my DMV test for driving. This ought to be fun.
This weekend is our anniversary and the Super Bowl party at the Lodge. We havn't had a drink since January 1. I really don't miss it at all.
Finally I got a ticket for the toll road where I didn't have the correct change. They let me off!!
How about that, sport fans!!!

Hell of a day
Well the market dropped 300 points at the beginning of the day and ended up 299 points. What a ride!! It is up slightly today.
We went to dinner with John and Connie at Five Crowns last night. It was part of Newport Beach's dinner special week. Prime rib dinner (three courses) was $35 a person. Excellent meal, big rain storm. All-in-all a different day

Market Meltdown
It seems the stock market is in free fall. It really goes to show what the Bush administration is all about. People are panicing and selling off all their stock. The only people who are ahead are the economic criminals of the Republican party. I am trying to stay calm with this mess.
The bank is really a pain to get an equity line of credit. It has been three weeks and they are moving at a glacial pace.
We have been lying low with the Elks and not drinking anything. It is great. The AT group seems to be on track. Sammy is doing a good job.
The gun group seems to be ok. Time will tell.

Mid January
We went to a retirement luncheon for Clancy H. with his wife and others. Real nice event. On Saturday we went to the American Thunder post-holiday party. Excellent. we won a number of gifts. It was embarrassing. On Monday I went to the CCW luncheon. Very nice. I went shooting with them on Tuesday at Evans Range. All and all very good.
On Wednesday I went to the GJ gathering for lunch. It was good to see all the group. Lively discussion with Eric Norby, Chris Norby;s chief-of-staff as guest. Discussion centered around follow-up on GJ reports.
The Russian lessons are coming along fine, as is the trip planning. I might need a new camera to go with. Maybe for my birthday!!!. I went to the eye specialist and my eyes have been stable for a couple of years. That is good news. We have Mo for dinner tonight and a baby shower and AT planning meeting for the weekend.

Fairly quiet weekend. We went to Habana for dinner with JoAnne and Bob S. Saturday night at the anti-mall. Nice time. On Thursday I took Kelly C. to lunch to pick her brain about Seoul, Korea. We are set in a good hotel. The only problem is to get to and from the airport. I went to the dentist today to have the implant checked. I am good for a year.
Tonight is the first meeting of American Thunder at Roderick's in Irvine. Sammy G. is the new director. This out to be good. We have a couple of social events this weekend. Clancy H. has his retirement luncheon and AT has it's annual party Saturday night.
Next week the CCW group has a lunch on Monday and a range night on Tuesday. We will see where that goes.
New Hampshire has it's primary today. This will be very interesting.

Happy New Year
I am so burned out on Xmas. MR and I went to 20 events during the month. Last week we took Amtrak to San Diego with Dan and Gay to the see the Dead Sea Scrolls. Very impressive. Nice ride each way and great lunch. We hired Sarah to watch the dogs as Tally is a bit insecure.
We visited the Nixon Library the next day. They had a model railroad display. Mostly the G gauge stuff. Lots of valuable tinplate from before WW2. The library tour was good too. Old Tricky actually did a few good things.
We went to Bill and Barbs for a luncheon and over to Henry and Doulci's for hot chocolate. Very nice.
We didn't go out for NY Eve, staying home and watching the NY ball drop.
I've been promoted to senior member in the CCW forum. Nice!
