High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

On Saturday we rode in a charity poker run. The crowd wasn't big, but the ride was fun. Sunday I went to a memorial service for Rick the biker from Westminster Elks. Passed on last week. This Saturday is Bernies wedding.

The meetings at work aren't fun. Last week the Tech Council meeting lasted two hours (mostly spam) and yesterday's meeting for VATEA was about 1 1/2 hours long. Zzzzzz!!

The end is just over the calendar horizon.

It has been hot for the last few days due to the Santa Ana winds. This followed the hot, muggy monsoon weather of a week ago. I miss rain. Work is work. The usual misery, frustration and paper pushing. Retirement is looking great. I was Elk of the Month at the Lodge. A nice feeling. The poker run is Saturday. I got my bike back yesterday. $700!!! Yikes!

The Yanks lost 2 of 3 to the Jays. They got to get it together for the Red Sox this weekend. After that they have the Twins. It will be a tough year to win it all.

Word on the street is that Mother's in Sunset Beach is closing for good at the end of November. Rats!
It was a good weekend. I got a lot of honey-dos finished. I didn't get to work on the railroad, but I took a couple of M/C rides. I cleaned the fish tank and worked out a couple of times.
Monday's student exhibition of work as fine. I am feeling far more comfortable about the outcome.
The superintendent emailed me about a discussion on the negotiations, which aren't going well.

Last night the BC won a double-header, 13-10 and 11-7. I pitched the first game and Tom pitched the second. I had a good night at the plate, 3 for 6. I really like this team. Very defensive oriented.

Tonight I have Lodge, where we are going to select a new rug for the building. I would rather stay at AT as the meetings are more fun.

Tomorrow is my last day at WOCUT. I tried to dump the TRT job, but the boss won't let me.

It has been terribly hot over the last 10 days. Muggy also. School is off to a good start and eveything seems to be working well. Shep and his family came in on Saturday, and left Monday morning. Good to see them. We went to the Angel game Saturday night and they got bombed. On Sunday I went to Mother's for a cold one. I guess they lost their lease and are either going to remodel it or knock it down. Time will tell. I have American Thunder, WOCUT and Trustees this week. Busy, Busy

Here we are, back at school. Why does it always get to 100 degrees during the first week at school. I got up at 5am and worked out for an hour. I went to bed at 9:30 last night, and that IS early! Slept well. We had a busy weekend with the two parties on Sunday. Yesterday I went to Mother's for a beer. I ran into the guy who rode with us to Yuma several years ago. Barts friend. This guy is still trouble. He had a squirt gun and was blasting customers. Everyone didn't appreciate it. We went over to the Maccarthy's for a drink and stopped at C&C's after. We were wiped watching the tube, trying to wake up.
Back to work, yuck!

I started work yesterday and it is rough. No inertia. I have to start about 5 different thing in the next week or so. This is not all that fun. Yesterday was frustrating enough, but today was worst. Thank God it's Friday! MR and I got up at 5:30 and worked out for an hour before breakfast. I like it. I seem to have more energy after a workout than without the workout. I am wondering about the AHOC party on Sunday afternoon. It doesn't seem to be real popular with the boys.

We shall see what we shall see.
