High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

My report on the GJ is coming along fine. I will be finished for editing by Friday. We had a nice weekend. We got the cars all cleaned up and took a MC ride with Dan and Gay to Berth 55 for lunch. On Saturday it was a quiet day and nothing much happened. It is supposed to rain but we havn't seen a drop most of the winter. This is as dry as it gets. Softball has begun and all the usual angst is apparent. Guys who sign up and don't appear, etc. We wil see what this year brings. Beyond that who cares. I only have two more months to work for the Lodge and that is totally out of my life. I need some excitement.

Sue McG. got a promotion and is going to Nashville. Good for her! Seet deal. Things sure have changed in south county. The weather sucks, windy and cold. MR is in Buffalo with her mom and will be back on Tuesday. I have all the chores to do. It sure takes a team to run this house. I may go for a MC ride today with Bob H. The weather looks nice from the window. The new car is sweet. I am going in late tomorrow as we have a criminal hearing that will last later. I really enjoy the GJ but I will be glad when it is over. Time to retire for real.

MR and I bought a new Honda Element on Saturday. It is black with a five speed stick shift. Gotta love it. I sold the old furmobile to KR for $2400. Sweet! MR is flying to Buffalo to bring her mother out for the rest of the winter. I have to bach it for a couple of days. My skin broke out with a hives problem and I went to the doctor for medicine. All is OK. Our niece Kelly got a transfer to SD and doesn't have to return to Iraq. Great news considering the village idiot is upping the stakes over there. Work is fine and softball begins next Monday. yea!

Easy week at the GJ. Tuesday was a Metrolink train to LA, tour and trip up the Gold Line to Pasadena for lunch. Yesterday we were at the maintenence facility for a first-responders training. All-in-all great stuff. I went to the RR club Monday and worked on the layout. The Lodge Tuesday was the usual mess with the budget way out of wack. They just don't get it. MR and I went to AT meeting before that. Indian Jack will be a good director. The idiot Bush is escalating the war again. The man is nuts! I got an email that Jim C. died. He lasted longer than I would have bet on. We are looking for a new car. Going on Saturday to get it.

A new year! We had a quiet weekend. On NYE we went to the Lodge for one and than over to Dan and Gay's for a little fun. I drove Mo out to Palm Desert on the MC on the 30th. Nice ride. On Sunday I rode over to the Huddle and Mother's for a little bs with the boys'. On New Year's Day I took a ride to south county for a laugh and had a gret time. Far better than a quiet ride could expect. The mountains were beautiful. Back to work on Tuesday. It is the half-way point on the GJ. Everyone is jumping on report writing. I am fine where I am. Tomorrow we ride Metrolink to LA for a meeting. MR is going along. We will have lunch with Nan Aune. Ought to be nice. The Yanks traded the Big Unit to AZ for a bunch of kids. They are stocking up!!
