High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

Great weekend! Saturday was honey-do day, but we got a lot finished. Sunday was two parties, one with the AHOC and the other with the softball team. We were gone for six hours of fun. I guess BH and B got into a fight at the first party. Must have been ugly. The food at the second was outstanding!!

MR and I took a ride on Sunday to Julian in SD County. Real nice time. We stopped over to D & Gs' for a BBQ. M & C from Inferno Gulch and B & C were also there. Real great tri-tip.

I'm getting to be a short-timer on the GJ. We are about done. So are the Yanks

A lot has happened in the last week. The GJ went to Hollywood via Metrolink and the Red Line on Friday. We had lunch at Musso and Franks on Hollywood Blvd. Excellent, but pricey. On Saturday I hung out, but Sunday MR and I went on a MC ride to Cook's , the Huddle, Mothers and King Neptune's. A real nice day. I went to WHS for exit interviews of seniors. They asked if I would like to read names at graduation. Why not! Also on Monday we split a doubleheader in softball. I went 3 for 6 but lost the first game. On Tuesday I went to the dentist and got some bad news, I will need two implants. Wednesday the GJ went to San Onofre Nuclear Power Station for the "A" tour. Awesome. The security is over the top. I couldn't imagine anyone breaking in that place. All in all a busy week. Jeter is awesome

The GJ is coming to an end. The reports are all in hand and other things are wrapping up. I had a great weekend with MR and I riding up to the Rock Store. The Foundation at WHS is having a bit of trouble with getting the proper contract for tax purposes etc. Enough of the BS, if it doesn't happen tomorrow that's it for me until they get a contract. This will be three meetings without one. We went to the Lodge on Saturday night and I received a nice watch for my efforts as Trustee. I am glad that is all behind me. The GJ is close to that point also. Very interesting things in the wind. I might work up at Ely and then there are other things. also

I just finished four trip on the Nevada Northern Rwy., running #93 to Keystone and back. Jason and Bear were the trainers and MR was enjoying the ride. Learning to bring a steam engine down a hill, using the lap notch and reverse gear was a kick. There are many places I learned to oil the mill and we even had scare with a loose plug under the boiler.

The weather was cold and snowy in May!. Go figure. The motel was fine, but the ride was long and boring. Thank God for XM radio.

We had an odd weekend last time. We went to a memorial service for Narland's lady, Julia, and then to Coralee's suprise 50th birthday party. I got a short ride in Sunday, but there were not a lot of bikes around as it was Laughlin weekend. The GJ is winding down as most of the reports are finished. On the 3rd MR and I are going to Ely NV to run steam engines. The Ritz Bros meet on Monday. I am taking that day off as well. I am planning a number of MC trips, to Illinois in June, maybe the south in August and Highways 49 in September. Then, back to New England for a week.
