High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

Returned yesterday from a trip to North Carolina and Alabama. We fly to Atlanta vis Dallas and spend a night there. We ran into Mary Burns from Buffalo and had dinner. The next day we drove through South Carolina to get to Asheville NC. We toured the Biltmoe Estate. It was really beautiful.

After leaving Asheville we drove to Montgomery AL for the night. The next day we drove to Orange Beach AL for three nights. We kicked back, swam, watched tv and ate. The weather was beautiful except for the tornados in MO and KS. Really bad stuff.

We left Orange Beach and drove to Atlanta and spent the night. Our flight was canceled, but MR worked some magic and got us tickets and even head of the line. We flew to DFW and had a two hour lay over for lunch. Flew to OC. All-in-all a very good trip.

It is hard to believe but it is raining again and the wind is blowing. Good day to stay in and putts. The Yankees are in a funk. The whole team, other than Granderson, is in a hugh slump. Posada isn't hitting his weight and the pitching is starting to come apart. Defense is miserable and the BP stinks. They have really put together the 1965 Yankees.

Worked on the engine Saturday with a crew of five others. No show for a whole bunch of guys until we throw a match into the firebox. Then we have a cast of thousands.

Busy week on the engine. I helped warm it up on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Lots to learn and lots to be happy about. My cousin Joel was stricken with an unknown ailment and was lucky to survive. He is on the mend now.

Obama got Osama bin Ladin. Great news. Now we can get out of Afghanistan.

Vacation coming in a week.
