High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

Well the Red Sox won it all. The Cards were just too nice. They shudda dusted Ortiz or Ramirez to get the juices going. It will be interesting to see what the Yanks will do off season. Carlos Beltran in center, a lefty starter and reliever, maybe a new first and second sacker. I have to check who is out there and available.

Ted and M.E. are in town for the weekend. We both got a number of pics published in Ian Wilson's new book "Steam to the Niagara Frontier". Lost out on a L-3b on Ebay. Went for over $900. Pricey!!!

The workouts are coming along fine. I have a lot more energy after each one.

First quarter is over next Friday, the 5th. One down, three to go.

Well the Yanks lost to the Dead Sox and it doesn't look good for the Cards. This is getting a bit boring. I had a so-so week, very busy since we were rained out at softball. We have an early game tonight. I might go to the club after the game. It is time to run some trains. I took a couple of short rides on Sat/Sun. Went to the Huddle and Mother's. Watch the WS and graded papers. Man, I can't wait to get out of here!

Rats! The Yanks lost last night and I had nightmares. Long day at work and it was a drag. Tomorrow is a longer day. I need to retire.

I have not been this busy in a long while. After the student teacher left, I had to catch up and it took about 5 days. MR and I are planning an AHOC run to the Maccarthy's over Veteran's Day. MR made up the flyer and we will begin to distribute it tonight at American Thunder or mail them. We should see some of the group at Thunderation on Sunday.

Sunday was a busy day and I got all my Honey dos' completed. Monday was even busier with WASC, the doctor, Oktoberfest and the softball game. I am pretty beat.

The student teacher has taken ill and will not return. I have to try to sort out the papers, start new projects and start fresh. Very busy. Work is hectic. The needy are in need and I don't mean the kids.

The wedding Saturday was nice. I hung out at the Lodge until about 2 pm. I went home and napped. We went to dinner with Dan and Gay at BJ's Pizza. Real nice.

We won at softball Monday night quite handely. We are in the hunt. It looks like a trip to the Maccarthy's is in the offing over Veterans Day weekend. The weather should be great.

The Yanks lost to Minnesota last night 2-0.

I have worked my last September. All seems to be going well. This is scary, as when you least expect it, expect something to ruin your day. The negotiations have produced a contract with a 2.41% increase, the same benefits and the TRT job on the salary scale. This will make a real difference. MR is hot on fixing all the little problems in the house, faucets etc. Fine. I blew it with a credit card purchase for a NYC caboose. There will be hell to pay for that mistake.

Tomorrow is Bernie's wedding. This could be a very long day. The workouts are progressing fine. I am going to walk today so I can take tomorrow off. This is real drivel, isn't it?

The Yankees won their division for the seventh year in a row. Now if the A's can knock off the Angels, Woody will owe me $100.
