Februay 8

Today would have been my mother's 99th birthday.  Long gone but never forgotten.
We went to CT for Melissa's wedding and had quite an experience.  The east was racked with snow storms and the trip looked complicated.  Out direct LAX to JFK flight was canceled.  No back up plan.  MR worked her magic and got us there two hours after we would have landed in NY.  We flew first class to DFW and coach to LaGuradia.  The weather was cold and snowy but we had a blast for two days.  Visited the Empire State Building, rode subways, drank in an Irish pub, and had a great dinner in a steakhouse.

We took MetroNorth to Branchville CT and my cousins house.  The wedding was in Southbury and we booked for the weekend.  Rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception and Sunday brunch all there.

We drove back to Ridgefield and watched the Super Bowl while feasting on takeout

The next day the adventure continued with snow falling we took MN to GCT and cabbed to Penn Station.   The train to Chicago was leaving late and got much later with a three hour delay in Albany NY.  We made the connection to LA with an hour to spare.    The train to LA had mechanical problems in La Plate MO but fixed them OK.  We arrived in Fullerton about 2 hours late.

All-in-all it was quite an adventure.  I loved NYC and can't wait to go back.
