High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

It was a real nice Xmas this year. MR got me clothes and stools for my layout. I got her a Kindle Fire, sweaters, earings, and a coffee maker. We went to D&Gs for Xmas dinner. Real nice.

On the 24th MR and I went to JJs in Long Beach. We met Nancy B., Char and Earl and had a real great time. Lots of beer and laughter. On Monday I went to the RR club and Tuesday we went to Audreys for a little gathering with the dog park people.

Tonight we are having dinner with Sue McG., probably at BJs. All-in-all a busy fun week.

Havn't been doing much since the 3751 move on Dec 11. We drained the boiler and put in some air oil in the pumps. We still have to put preservative in the superheater. We tarped the engine and said goodbye until 2012. Jim C. and his family came down on Tuesday evening. We went to BJs with them and Mo.

On Sunday we worked the Xmas party for kids at the Lodge. Great event. I took pictures and have them posted in two places. Three to go.

I have all my shopping complete. I just have to wrap the gifts.

Tomorrow we go to Joe Josts for beer

A lot has happened since the last post. My cousin Joel passed away. We had a memorial service and burial at sea for him on Friday, December 9th. A lot of the old hockey guys were there. Tom G. was trying to entice me into playing old timers but I really don't want to.

The 3751 group had an outing over the weekend . We were up at Union Station for the weekend. The engine ran well and I got a shot at spot firing and road firing. I only goofed up once with smoke.

The holidays are upon us and we are really busy with activiites.
