High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

The ferry trip from Seattle to Juneau took 61 hours.  It was fantastic with the sailing in channels between small islands and the stops in Ketchikan, Wrangell and Petersburg.  Pizza in Petersburg was fine.  We arrived in Juneau early, washed our clothes and took in the sights.  I like the town.  It is visited by 4-5 hugh cruise ships every day!  They look like Las Vegas hotels, but floating.  Truely amazing.  I have taken a ton of pictures, and have ridden all over Juneau.  Tonight we are meeting friends at the Red Dog Saloon in town.  Really a fun time.  I bought two great t-shirts and new rain gloves.  The weather was hot until yesterday, but it rained today with the temp in the 60's.  Tomorrow we leave for Skagway.  A short six-hour ferry ride and a late arrival.  More later....

Well I made it to Seattle w/o any problems.  It was hot up to Salem, OR but it cooled off in Washington.  When I got to Seattle I checked out the airport and tried to figure which is the fastest route to Bellingham.  MR's flight was pushed up and hour and a half, so this makes it easier to get there.  The dogs are in the kennel and the fish are cared for.    Let's hope this is all I want it to be.

MR and I had a wonderful weekend. Melinda came down and we hung out. We went to Dan's birthday party on Sunday night. A fun time. Saturday morning I went to Mooning of the Amtrak. Great time. We sold over 120 t-shirts and got great pictures for the calenar. On Friday I went to the RR club and ran Bershires. The Iron Horse models need a longer drawbar.

I am getting ready to got to Alaska tomorrow. I will pack today and get the bike loaded. I leave on Tuesday at 6am. Ought to be interesting.

Let's start again. On the 4th we went to C&C's for breakfast. We skipped the parade, coming home and hanging out. We went to the Goode's for the annual block party. I had four green deaths which put me in a good mood. We left about five and prepared for our BBQ. We had about 10 people show up for brats and chicken. Real good! The fireworks began a 9pm. Spectacular!!! The traffic was a real mess. The party broke up about 11 pm. MR and I crashed and vegged all day Monday.

I painted crown molding all week. The place looks great!. I had lunch with TishK on Friday at Lou's Oak BBQ. She suggested a new series of novels that I might be interested in. I will have to check it out. We went to the Lodge for the roast last night. It was a fun evening. Stopped by C&C's for a nighcap. This is going to be a very big weekend in HB. The radio has been advertising it for two weeks. The fireworks begin at 9pm. I am glad I am not driving out of here Sunday night.
