Last post 2010
We had a great Christmas. I bought MR a wedding ring, boots and watch. She got me a GPS system. All-in-all a great time. We were busy socially also. We must have attended ten events in December.
The weather has been very rainy and now very cold. December was the wettest December since 1889. We could use a few days of warm weather to dry out and warm up.
We went to the Kings-Flyers hockey game last night. The Kings looked terrible. No defense.
2011 should be an interesting year. Maybe a Baltic cruise and a couple of Americana trips. I like the idea of two days in Ashville NC and four in Alabama.
The steam trip to Rail Fest in Rock Island IL is suspended because BNSF is expecting a 50% increase in traffic on the transcon.
I was elected as a director on the SBRHS. How about that!!

Busy time
On Thursday I went with Mo, Char and Staci to the KLOS concert at the Nokia theather downtown. Peter Framton and Billy Idol were featured. Had dinner at Riordans on Fig. Friday night I went to the RR club dinner in Long Beach and Saturday the AHOC had their toy run and Xmas pot luck. Saturday night I went to Pam and Ed's for their annual party in Turtle Rock. Sunday night I went to King Neptunes for dinner with Dan, Gay, Char and Staci. Man I was worn out.
Mary Rose returned from Buffalo on Monday. She arrived in the middle of a six day rain storm. Some of the rain totals are awesome like Lytle Creek, 25 inches of rain! LA and LB got 7 and 8 inches respectively.
It ought to dry out for a few days. The canyons and Laguna Beach are buried in mud.
We were lucky with a tiny leak in the family room where the wind blew in an opening under the eaves.
Xmas shopping is finished.
The 3751 trip to Rock Island has been cancled. Turns out BNSF expects a 50% increase in traffic on the Transcon and doesn't want us around for 18 days. double Rats!

December 15
MR got off to Buffalo yesterday. She was delayed two hours in Atlanta and her luggage didn't arrive until today. Weather is lousy back there and lousy here. I went to the AT meeting last night. New officers were elected. Hope it is a good year.
Today is a quiet day. I will do a little shopping.
Tomorrow we are going to the KLOS concery in LA. Hope it is fun.

December 10
I have spent the week at doctor's, my eyes and a cold. I hate waiting rooms.
Christmas is upon us. MR has the tree up and the house looks great. She is off to Buffalo on the 14th for a week.
I might be placed on the SBRHS boaad as a director this weekend. We shall see what we shall see.
Sunday is the Elk's childrens Christmas party. Have to take a few pictures.
Only three more months as PR person.

Busy, busy time. We went to New Orleans and coastal Alabama for Thanksgiving with D&G. We rode Amtrak Sunset Ltd. home to LA , a real nice vacation. As usual we hung out at the Cat's Meow, a Karioke bar. The weather was warm and we had fun.
Coastal Alabama is recovering from the BP oil spill. We were at Orange Island for a night and it merits a return visit. We also spent a night in Mobile and toured the USS Alabama.
The train ride was pleasant. The track was rough at times, but the food was great.
It has been very cold in the southland for about a week now. Early winter?
