September 24
Real busy weekend. I worked on the refrigerator car with a crew. We removed the coupler, dropped the pin to the truck, jacked it up, pulled out the truck and set timbers to hold up the car while we rebuild the truck. MR and I went to the Kings game at Staples Arena that night. Great game, seats and service. Sunday we watched the Yanks loose (again).
Sunday night we went to dinner with the Ritz group in Seal Beach. Good time. Monday night we watched the Yanks loose to the Angels. Rats. Tuesday they won and we went to the game on Wednesday at Anaheim Stadium. Yanks won a squeaker 3-2 using the B squad. Hot as hell in the park.
Santa Ana winds have really made it hot here

Mid September
We had a nice weekend. Worked on the engine for a while. Lots of heavy lifting. On Sunday we led an AT group to San Pedro, stopping at Berth 55 and riding the trolley in SP. We finished up at Mothers. Bike ran fine.
Monday I went to the RR club. A couple of guys discussing politics are really drinking the right wing kool-aid. Listening to Glen Beck sssheees.
We have an AT board meeting tonigth to discuss the poker run in November. We also have a run to Randsburg in November. Going to be a busy fall.

This date is supposed to something special. Remains to be seen. Jeter having a heard time passing Gehrig. Labor Day weekend was quiet. I worked on the engine and refrigerator car. The coupler was reattached to the car. I guess this was a long job. The other truck has to be rebuilt and the car painted. Then it is given away.
AT is working out well. I only have three more months with the AD position and April 1 is the end of the Elks gig. Really dumping all the responsibilities.

We just returned from a trip to Buffalo. We flew to Chicago and rented a car to do a little "Americana" trip. We spent the first night in Merrillville, IN and rode down to Louisville KY the next day. From there we drove to West Virgina for a night. From there we rode I79 through western PA to Buffalo. We attended a wedding there and caught up with a number of old friends and family. All-in-all we had a great time. The weather was a bit cool and rainy, but that was welcome by us who see little rain.
From Buffalo we rode to Bellevue OH. This is an old railroad town of the NKP. Roundhouse and turntable still stands as they also do in Frankfort IN. The weirdess thing about Bellevue was a local restaurant that had good food and featured gospel singers to spoil the meal.
