High Iron and Rollin' Thunder

A very busy and big week for me. I got the HD from LA HD and sold the standard to Chooch for 9K. They deliver at 3pm today. This is finals week and most of the kids are doing fine. The usual suspects aren't. MR is into the Bogart furniture and I think we are going to buy a couch, chair, table and cabinet. Very very busy at work. The WASC is finished and tomorrow is the half-way point to June.

There was a very bad train wreck in LA yesterday. At least 11 killed. Some ignorant wretch decided to commit suicide and chickened-out at the last minute, leaving his SUV on the tracks. Very very bad.

The idiot Bush is President again. What a waste! I looked for a new Harley at LA Harley. Their sales staff needs a lot of help. I saw the bike I wanted but they low-balled me on the possiblity of a trade-in. I think I will sell it on-line or in the cycle trader. I bought a J-1 2-10-4 from BLI. They really are a beautiful engine. The K-4 is also great. I will have to buy another. I hope BLI comes out with a few NYC engines in the Mohawk classes. I will have to go looking again for a bike. MR has done a wonderful job on the investments. I sure am glad I am out of the rental business. The house is coming together. All seems fine. I went to Linda M's memorial service yesterday. She sure was quite a person.

The rain has finally stopped and the sun is out. We were lucky in that we didn't sustain any damage to either house. The mudslides have taken out a lot of homes, highway and railroad. Uncle Pete's road is in a world of shit. No trains are moving anywhere. I didn't hear the local today, which tells me it didn't run. Tough to run without any loads.

The house is closing either today or tomorrow. Yeaaa!. The WASC is about done. I have to back off some of the bs around here. It is getting very heavy in the lunch room. This cannot be my fight. I have done enough and it is time to move on.

The AHOC is riding for a Rick Memorial Ride on Saturday. Usual places. American Thunder was great. I like the new place, but the prices are steep. Hope they change that.

I returned to work on the 3rd of January. I was reallybeat at the end of the day. The weather has been rainy and cold. We have more rain so far this year than the annual average and the wettest months are coming.

The WASC report is well in hand as is the VATEA grant. I have a new student teacher for the spring semester. That will be a relief. This has been a tough Fall semester.

It was tough for Harland and Cheryl as they both had deaths in their immediate families.

I have Lodge tonight. Last nights RR club wasn't much of a big deal.
