Yesterday

Yesterday we led 24 American Thunder bikes to Griffiths Observatory in LA. The weather was perfect. We took in the planetarium show. It was great. After a couple of hours looking at the exhibits we rode downtown to Phillippe's for lunch. The place was mobbed on Sunday!. Afterward we rode home.

I took Bob H. 1960 Ford pickup for gas and drove it around a bit. The thing drives like a tank. No power anything. Nice looking though.

Maggie is sick, off to the vets tomorrow.

March 24

We had quite a group over for St. Patrick's Day. MR said we had about 35 people. Real good time. I drilled out the staybolts in the firebox on 3751 along with two others. Dirty work. I gues we are a go on May 1.
I am working with Char on Bob's Celebration of Life at the Lodge on April 11. Everything seems to falling in place.
We had a run on Sunday to Griffiths Observatory with American Thunder.

Mary Rose has set up a vacation to the Jersey Shore and Conneticut in June. Ought to be fun

Dark Day

I lost a great friend today, Bob Hutton. I met Bob in 1995 at Mother's in Sunset Beach. This began an 11-year oddesey of motorcycle rides, dumpy bars, sleezy motels and just plain fun. It is hard to express in words the fun we had. The memories will last a lifetime. Rest in peace old friend and keep the shiney side up

March 9

It is a bit cool and windy around here. I was going to take my hog for a ride but I need a new battery. No doubt.

I worked on 3751 Saturday. I guess we are really going to San Diego on May 1. I don't know about the trip to San Bernardino. Time will tell.

We have AT meeting tonight. MR is gearing up for St. Patrick's Day

March 3

I remember this day in 1983 very clearly. When I went to work it was pouring rain. I didn't think it would last, but four hours later it was still pouring and the water was rising at school. I went home at lunch to discover that the school across the street was being evacuated. The water was rising in my driveway. I check the Talbert channel and the water was up to the top of the dikes. Wow!.

My brother in law Bill came over and we sandbagged the channel until 2 am. It was really a mess but the damage in the neighborhood was little. This is when we decided to move to higher ground.

I was named Elk of the Month for March. How about that. I guess I will give them another year.
