Back from the Baltic
We went on a Baltic cruise on July 7. We had business class seats on a LAX-JFK leg of the trip. Went we boarded we were moved to the rear of the business cabin so that Octamom could have her family together. Not too nice
We flew to NY and then on to London, changing planes one more time for Stockholm Sweden. We were a bit tired from all the flying. The hotel was nice. After a nap we went for a walk in the old town. Very nice, very clean.
On Saturday the 9th we boarded the ship Silver Whisper for the cruise. We had a veranda deck suite #612. Very comfortable iand the staff is very helpful.
Our first leg was overnight to Tallinn, Estonia. We had lunch and a few beers. The only problem was getting some money changed. We had to use an ATM. Estonia is nice and the old town was full of people having fun.
Returning to the ship we sailed overnight to St. Petersburg Russia. Dinner the second night was the formal affair. Very nicely done.
We arrrived in St. Petersburg and went through the pain of entering Russia. We took three tours there. One each day, the first was "As the Russians See it".
It included a shopping mall and supermarket tour, a metro ride and a vodka tasting. We visited the Winter and Summer Palaces, the Hermitage and Catherine's Summer Palace. The weather was warm but the nights were cooler. All-in-all it was a nice three days.
