A first!
I don't know jack about blogging but I might as well start here. The title reflects two passions in my life, railroads and Harley's. I have been a railroad fan all my life, having lived near a railroad yard as a child. Steam engines were around in my misguided youth and trying to ride in the cab of one was a challenge. Fortunately, I managed to ride a number of the beasts in four different countries, the US, Canada, Thailand and India. I have rolled across southern Ontario at 80 mph and ridden a switcher in the yards plus a whole bunch of others. My last ride was up Cumbres Pass on a 95 year old mill. All great fun.
My second passion is my two HD motorcycles on which I have logged about 130,000 miles and rode through 38 states. Last summer I logged over 9000 miles in the month of August, riding up to Sturgis SD from the LA area, hanging out with the boys. I hooked up with a couple of guys and we rode into North Dakota, over the upper peninsula of Michigan and down to Pennsylvania. We visited the Harley plant in York PA. I split from them and rode to the east coast, ending up at Rehobeth Beach Delaware (sorry about the spelling.) I rode west to Chicago and up to Milwaukee for a week of the 100th anniversary party of HD. I had the time of my life with parties and concerts and good friendly people. I left and rode to California, with rain on two whole days. Tough sledding.
Anyway enough of the babble for today. Time to fire up the FXR and hang out at Mother's in Sunset Beach
